JAF holds Solidarity Action in Support of Lagos Doctors

The Joint Action Front (JAF) held solidarity action in support of the Lagos doctors at the National Industrial Court (NIC) on Wednesday May 16, 2012. The doctors had gone to court to challenge the irresponsible and draconian action of the Lagos state government. 788 doctors were callously and illegally sacked for embarking on legitimate strike to press home the demand for the implementation of CONMESS, a unified salary structure for medical doctors in the country. The case has been adjourned to Tuesday May 22, 2012. Also present were unemployed youths and women bused to the court by Fashola government to protest against the doctors. The rented crowd, most of whom could not articulate why they were protesting, were overwhelmed and deflated by the combined force of JAF members and doctors, and thereby left the court in shame

About Me

My photo
Joint Action Front
That we live in turbulent times is not in doubt. That we have to fight for our lives is a reality the masses of Nigeria know. That we desire a strong organization to lead us in struggle is not in doubt. That the conditions in our country are going to continue to degenerate except the masses directly intervene by taking their destiny into their hands is an indisputable fact of history. Therefore, the Joint Action Front (JAF) as a social movement is anchored on a programme of action that appreciates reform and revolutionary transformation of the polity towards the social emancipation of the country and people. The Programme of Action shall be to fight for welfare and well being of the working people, social infrastructures and against neo-liberal capitalist policy, corruption, inequality and other forms of exploitation and oppression. The specifics shall be determined from time to time. JAF identifies the forces to achieve such immediate and ultimate goals as socialist and non-socialist working class organisations including human rights and other civil society groups that subscribe to the programme of actions of JAF.
