JAF went ahead with street protest despite the deployment of armed soldiers and police on January 16, 2012 to repress the the mass protest against the outrageous fuel price hike under the guise of fuel subsidy removal. The event was filmed by Funmi Iyanda, producer and journalist, who embedded with JAF throughout the January movement, the biggest in the history of Nigeria
